Should I Add My Mother In Law To My Cell Phone Plan?
My mother-in-law has been “hinting” for years that she needs a cell phone. We’re considering adding her to our plan.
However:
- She’ll kill the minutes
- we’ll have to pay for it
BUT:
- when she watches my kids, I have to leave my phone at my house with her- we don’t have a home line
- I’m lost without my phone
- I don’t want her answering my phone
BUT: she needs to have a phone when she’s got my kids.
Any ideas?
P.S. Watching them at her house is not possible: she lives with her parents: and they don’t like “overactive children”

Get her a prepaid cellphone with a minutes card that has to be bought again to get more minutes. If you only buy her a 25$ card, then she can’t go over the limit unless she tops up again with a credit card or buys another minutes card. Don’t leave her with any of your credit cards though because then she could use it to top up with a million dollars worth of minutes from her phone. Most prepaid phones you can top up right from the phone but you might be able to find one that doesn’t have that feature. Or you could just get her one of those jitterbug phones.Good luck!!

i would get her a prepaid phone and buy her a card. why can’t she buy a phone herself? she’s a grown woman.
